San Antonio Is Back In The Hunt For The NCAA Men’s Final Four.

 

San Antonio Sports Announced Today That The Ncaa Has Named San Antonio As One Of Eight Cities Which Will Be Invited To Bid For Final Fours Between 2017 And 2020.

 

“We Are Very Excited About Receiving The News Today That San Antonio Will Be One Of The Cities In The Mix For The Upcoming Men’S Final Four Bid Cycle,” Said Utsa Athletic Director Lynn Hickey. Utsa Would Be The Host College For The Event.

 

The Alamodome Hosted Men’S Final Fours In 1998, 2004 And 2008, And Women’S Final Fours In 2002 And 2010. Second And Third Round Regional Games Of This Year’S March Madness Will Be Held At The At&T Center.

 

The Bids Will Be Considered Over The Coming Several Years. The Other Cities Invited To Bid Are Indianapolis, Atlanta, Minneapolis, New Orleans, “North Texas” Which Means At&T Cowboys Stadium In Arlington, Phoenix, And St. Louis.

 

The Bids Will Spur The San Antonio City Council To Make Upgrades To The Alamodome. The Facility, Which Opened In 1993, Is Considered By Many To Be Outdated When It Comes To Amenities And Multi Media Capabilities.
