'Sense of Mourning' Today at Canyon HS

The mood at Canyon High School in New Braunfels today is one of shock, sadness and grief after 1200 WOAI news first reported this morning that sophomore Logan Davidson had died from injuries he received in a fight at the school on Tuesday.

Students say the fight between Davidson and another 15 year old was not a huge brawl.

"First hit, knocked him out," one student told 1200 WOAI's Michael Board.

Davidson then cracked his head against a wall.

He was airlifted to University Hospital in San Antonio, where he died.

Students say there is a 'sense of mourning' at the school.

"Yeah, everyone's sad right now," one student told 1200 WOAI news.

Our thoughts and prayers go to the families of both students involved, and we will all work to protect their privacy at this difficult time," Comal ISD Superintendent Andrew Kim said in a statement.

"Campus and district counselors will be available throughout the week at CHS to assist students and staff process this shocking and tragic event."

The other student in the fight is in juvenile detention charged with aggravated assault.  That charge may now be upgraded to murder.
