The latest blast of cold wintry air slid off to the east of San Antonio. Schools are closed in Houston and as close as Victoria, but no Bexar County ISD has even delayed the start of school today as roads are generally clear and ice free.

Police have reported answering a handful of wrecks which have closed some entrance ramps. The biggest was on the I-37 bridge over Houston Street just east of downtown about 2AM. Police say the de-icing chemical that crews were spraying on the bridge froze, causing several cars to spin out of control.
More than a dozen flights out of San Antonio International Airport are cancelled today, mainly due to weather conditions at the flight’s destination. Flights are cancelled to Houston, to Atlanta, and to northern cities like Chicago and Minneapolis.
There is a slight chance of freezing precipitation later today, but the precipitation should move out of the area by afternoon.
Tonight will we will see the coldest weather so far this winter, with lows generally in the lower 20s to the teens in the Hill Country. But with no precipitation in the forecast, tomorrow morning should be cold, but should again be free of snow cancellations.
