Three Facing Capital Murder Charge Following NW Side Murder

Police are charging two men and a 16 year old with capital murder after their bungled attempt to stick up a north side Valero station early today ended with a man dead, 1200 WOAI news reports.

Police say the three were running from the Valero Station on Huebner Road toward the Chisholm Trace Apartments.

Detectives say John Andrew Bermea, 20, was aroused by shouting and confusion at the apartment complex, and he ran outside to try to head off the robbers.

Officials aren't sure what happened, but a shot was heard, and Bermea was found dead in a breezeway at the complex.

So far the three suspects have not been identified.  Police say they may have been strung out on the drug 'ecstasy,' a large quantity of the drug was found in the possession of one of the men.
